What is Gothram and why are same-Gothram matches blocked?

Gothram identifies your ancestral lineage (Rishi lineage). Telugu tradition prohibits marriage within the same Gothram as it is considered equivalent to marrying a close relative. MatrimonyTrust automatically screens out same-Gothram profiles to protect this custom.

What is Manglik Dosha and how does MatrimonyTrust handle it?

Manglik Dosha occurs when Mars (Mangal) is placed in certain houses in the Kundali. Many Telugu families prefer Manglik-Manglik matches to neutralise the Dosha. MatrimonyTrust flags Manglik-Non-Manglik combinations as a warning so both parties are informed — it is not an automatic block, and the user can override it.
